Owing to unprecedented demand, we have suspended sales of festival patronage during the period of advanced booking - April 20-May 4.
Once this two-week exclusivity period has passed, patronage sales will re-open (alongside the main Box Office opening), allowing you to benefit from reduced travel into Orkney and discounted festival merchandise.
Support the festival by becoming an Orkney Folk Festival Patron!
We have two tiers of patronage available - Patron and Patron Plus - both of which benefit from great offers in return for your generous support.
Become a Festival Patron for £20 (per household) and qualify for:
1. 30% discount on travel to Orkney with Northlink Ferries from Mainland Scotland between 18th May - 1st June (inclusive), on both vehicle and passenger fares (cabin fares excluded).
2. Priority booking of festival tickets.
3. 10% off festival merchandise (excluding tickets and artistes' merchandise)
Each patron will be issued with their own patronage number which must be quoted when purchasing tickets.
Members of the Patron Plus scheme receive all of the above benefits, plus entry in a monthly Prize Draw, and help support the Festival through one easy programme.
As a Patron Plus member you will qualify for the same benefits as regular Patrons but, in addition, you enter a prize draw with the chance to win a monthly cash prize.
Furthermore, it may be that Patron Plus members will also have voting rights within a revised constitution. As you may know the festival is run by a dedicated committee of volunteers, who are always on the look out for new ideas and input!
The main reason behind the Patron Plus scheme, atop general patronage, is that over the years the Orkney Folk Festival has been well supported by public bodies, however the levels of funding required in maintaining the high standards we set ourselves are unlikely to continue, and so we are looking at alternative ways to generate much needed funds. The Patron Plus scheme is an excellent way of doing so. Not only does it give those who cherish our Festival an opportunity to help ensure its future, it gives the participants the opportunity to win a cash prize each month to the value of half the income collected that month. For example, participants donating £60 per annum (just £5 per month) are giving £30 p.a. to support the Festival and £30 to the prize fund, and those donating £120 are giving £60 to each etc.
A commitment of £5 per month will give the participant one number in the prize draw and £10 per month will give two (and so on within multiples of £5), with the winning number being drawn at the end of each month. The prize money increases in line with the number of participants.
Your support will be greatly appreciated and will help to ensure the future of the Orkney Folk Festival.
