Blazin' Fiddles
Whatever the hall – be it in a remote Highland village or the Royal Albert - Blazin' Fiddles never fail to dazzle, delighting each and every audience as they go. What began as a project for the Highland Festival, almost 15 years ago, continues as one of Scotland's top folk groups. Few other bands manage to capture the excitement, the passion and the sensitivity of Scottish music all at once.
With a Blazers performance comes the rare opportunity to hear the regional expressions and style from each fiddler – Lochaber natives Allan Henderson and Iain Macfarlane, Shetlander Jenna Reid, and Inverness’ Bruce MacGregor – combined with all-hands-in explosions of dynamism and out and out fire. Fiddles and bows come alight atop guitar and piano from rhythm masters Anna Massie and Angus Lyon, for one of the most exciting and memorable traditional ensembles ever to take the stage.
